Childbirth Education Classes
Pregnancy is a joyous, exciting and sometimes uncertain journey. Education, knowledgeable doctors and staff, and a caring atmosphere close to home can make all the difference. At North Knoxville Medical Center, we want to make the most memorable nine months of your life go smoothly and to help your pregnancy be a healthy one.
Learning Together
Each month, the prenatal education team will meet with expecting parents to go over the ins and outs of childbirth. We currently offer the below classes:
Childbirth Education: Get Ready Class
Join us for our Childbirth Education: Get Ready class where we discuss what to expect with childbirth. This reviews what to expect when you are admitted for labor, comfort techniques, breastfeeding and care of the newborn.
Length of Class: This is a 4-hour class from 1 p.m. - 6 p.m. on scheduled Sundays.

Childbirth Education Series
The Childbirth Education Series discusses such topics as what to expect when you are in labor, comfort techniques, breastfeeding and care of the newborn. This series consists of 3 sessions.
Length of Class: This is a 3-part, 2-hour evening class from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. for 3 scheduled days in each month.

Big Brother, Big Sister Class
This class is for Tennova patients who have children interested in learning about the new baby that’s coming into their family. A parent needs to attend with the child.
Cost: Free (A parent must be present.)
