POWELL, TN (October 10, 2023) - Tennova Healthcare - North Knoxville Medical Center recently added Purush Muthusamy, M.D., FACC, FACP, RPVI, interventional cardiologist and peripheral vascular disease specialist, to the Tennova Heart team. Muthusamy comes to Tennova Healthcare with clinical interests that include coronary artery disease, peripheral arterial disease, acute coronary syndromes and preventive cardiac medicine. Dr. Muthusamy has board certifications in interventional cardiology, cardiovascular medicine, echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, internal medicine and vascular test interpretation. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography & Interventions, and the American College of Physicians. Dr. Muthusamy earned his medical degree from the Dr. M.G.R. Medical University-Madurai Medical College in India, and completed his internal medicine residency at Michigan State University in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He has two years of cardiovascular research experience through his Michigan State University fellowship and he has published several clinical research articles prominently contributing to the Interventional cardiology field.
