Tennova Healthcare has been named as one of Becker’s Hospital Review’s 165 Top Places to Work in Healthcare for 2026, underscoring the health system’s vision to make the healthcare experience exceptional for patients, communities and each other. Becker’s Hospital Review, a publication for healthcare industry leaders, recognizes hospitals, health systems and healthcare companies each year that set the standard for what it means to be an exceptional workplace.
“This is a well-deserved honor that we share with the more than 2,900 employees across Tennova Healthcare who work tirelessly to make a difference in the lives of those we care for every single day.” said Tony Benton, Tennova Healthcare CEO. “We strive to create a culture of excellence and a positive workplace experience so our team can focus on what’s most important: serving our patients and the community.”
According to Becker’s selection criteria, the 165 named organizations are honored by investing deeply in their people, offering robust benefits, meaningful opportunities for professional and personal development, inclusive environments where employees feel valued, mission-driven work, and resources that support true work-life balance. Beyond their walls, many also make a powerful difference in their communities through service initiatives and a strong commitment to social responsibility.
In honoring Tennova Healthcare, Becker’s said:
Tennova Healthcare is a network of five acute care hospitals in the Knoxville region, fostering an environment where employees are celebrated and supported in their quest to provide high-quality patient care. In 2025, two Tennova hospitals achieved voluntary turnover rates for all hospital employees and registered nurses well below the national average.
Generous benefits and robust development opportunities across the network include student loan refinancing and repayment assistance, expanded tuition support for employees pursuing advanced education, and coverage for job-related certifications and licensures. The internal medicine residency program and on- campus nursing school, in collaboration with Jersey College of Nursing, is actively preparing the next generation of healthcare professionals. In 2024, two Tennova Healthcare hospitals received the “TNCPE Excellence Award,” the highest honor from the Tennessee Center for Performance Excellence.
