KNOXVILLE, TN (December 7, 2023) Tennova Women’s Health Specialists and Midwifery Services - North Knoxville Medical Center welcomes Jennifer Spillman, certified nursing midwife (CNM), to the team. Spillman has been a nurse for over a decade, recently earning her Master of Science in nursing with certified nurse specialty degree from Frontier Nursing University in Versailles, KY. Her Bachelor of Science in nursing degree was received from Carson Newman University in Jefferson City, TN. She is a state licensed nurse certified with the American Midwifery Certification Board.
“I am excited to care for the Powell community,” said Spillman. “I’m looking forward to supporting women throughout their life, especially bringing more babies safely into this world, alongside our other OB/GYN providers and midwives.”
Midwives are specially trained registered nurses who provide expert obstetrical care. The midwives at Tennova Women’s Health Specialists and Midwifery Services offer patients a personalized approach to prenatal care by spending more time with the patient and becoming their prenatal liaison for information, questions, and guidance. We offer patients one-on-one care, natural birth with physician collaboration, clinical experience, and physicians available in emergent situations throughout their prenatal care.
